The day I almost became an orchid thief, was they day I visited the National Orchid Garden in Singapore which houses over 60,000 plants. When important people visit the garden, they are dedicated their own special hybrid plant. See the Princess Diana Orchid above.
Sung Sot Cave is the largest cave in Halong Bay, Vietnam. When a French Admiral “discovered” the cave, obviously the locals have known about it for centuries, he renamed it “Surprise Cave” because he was so surprised when he stumbled upon it.
As Halong Bay has quickly become one of the top tourist sites in the country, Sung Sot Cave has fallen victim to what I call the Southeast Asian sense of aesthetic where “more is more.” Nonetheless, no amount of neon lights will fully detract from the natural beauty of this gigantic grotto.
